A 330-room hotel joined to the west exit of JR Nara Station, open since 1998. The station, a mall and a supermarket are on the doorstep, which makes it the tidiest base if you're shuttling between Osaka, Kyoto and Nara. The buffet breakfast, with Nara home cooking on it, gets a lot of love. Nara Park is about a 15-minute walk, or a few stops by bus.
