Noritake, Japan's best-known tableware maker, turned the site of its first factory into a park. Lawns run between century-old red-brick walls and kiln chimneys, and all of that is free. In the Craft Center you watch artisans paint gold rims on plates through the glass, and the museum upstairs shows Meiji-era export pieces known as Old Noritake. If you have time, you can paint a plate yourself.
