Under iron-roofed sheds the fruit and veg stalls run on and on, while in the brick meat and fish hall traders shout their prices. In the old deli hall you can taste cheese, olives and salami before buying. Grabbing a hot jam doughnut from the old van at the edge of the market is close to a ritual. A whole section sells souvenirs (ugg boots, sheepskin, manuka honey), so it's a one-stop shop for gifts home.
