A grand old house at the end of a lane in Bab Doukkala, with just one door facing the street. Candles are lit on every level from the courtyard to the roof, and dinner is a single set menu: a run of Moroccan salads, pigeon pastilla, tagine or couscous, then pastries, fruit and mint tea. The roof, with the medina and the Koutoubia minaret in view, is the first to fill.
