In the middle of BGC, a new city built on an old army base, a long ribbon of lawn and trees runs between two rows of shops and restaurants. The pavements are wide and clean in a way the rest of Manila isn't, and first-timers often wonder if they're in the same city. In the evening kids run on the grass and every outdoor table has a beer on it. Big murals cover the surrounding buildings, so there's plenty to photograph on a stroll. Think of it less as a shopping trip and more as a place for an evening walk and dinner.
