A Jewish deli on the same corner since 1947, still with brown leather booths and a worn counter. Nearly everyone orders the No. 19: warm hand-cut pastrami, coleslaw, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing on twice-baked rye with a crackling crust. The meat is juicy and the crust crisp, and some rank it above Katz's in New York. It closes at 4pm, so plan it as lunch.
