Walt Disney planned and opened this, the first Disneyland, in 1955. Sleeping Beauty Castle at the end of Main Street is smaller than its overseas cousins, which many say makes it feel more like a storybook, and the park mixes classics like the Matterhorn Bobsleds with newer lands like Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Across the plaza, Disney California Adventure leans on Marvel and Pixar (Cars Land, Avengers Campus, Pixar Pier) and is the better pick for thrill rides. The two gates are a few minutes apart; to do both in a day you need a Park Hopper.
