A steep funicular climbs through the forest in ten minutes, and at the top a steel platform, the Two Lakes Bridge, juts over the cliff. From the end you get Lake Thun on one side, Lake Brienz on the other, little Interlaken squeezed between them, and the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau lined up across the valley. Plenty of people time it for dinner on the terrace of the castle-like timber restaurant at sunset. It's close and easy, so it slots into an arrival or departure day.
