Buy a ticket, take a counter seat, and tempura lands on your plate one piece at a time straight from the oil. The 'okonomi' set (prawn, squid, pork, white fish, three vegetables) is ¥1,240 at this branch, and fresh-fried tempura at that price is the whole appeal. Rice and miso soup come with it; eat each piece while it's still crackling. The original shop is near the airport, but Daimyo and ACROS Fukuoka are the city-centre options.
