Florence itineraries
Dome to sunset in a day
Climb the dome on the first morning slot, stand in front of Botticelli's Venus at the Uffizi, then watch the sun drop behind the red roofs from Piazzale Michelangelo. If you get one day in Florence, this is the order.
A night by the Duomo
Sleep beside the Duomo and hear the bells morning and night. Day one is the dome, David and the Medici; day two the Uffizi and Palazzo Pitti across the river. All on foot.
Two nights, Oltrarno to Pisa
Stay across the river in the Oltrarno and start outside the tourist loop: studios and a hilltop sunset on day one, half a day at the Leaning Tower on day two, and on day three the Duomo plus the Uffizi on the cheaper afternoon ticket.
