Five marble outcrops jut out of the flat coastal plain, each named for an element: metal, wood, water, fire and earth. Visitors climb the biggest, Thuy Son. Take the lift or the stone stairs and you find pagodas and towers tucked into the rock, and in Huyen Khong cave a shaft of daylight falls through a hole in the roof onto the Buddha. The lookout at the top takes in the whole My Khe coastline. Am Phu cave at the foot, a dark descent into a version of the underworld, has a completely different mood.
