Step through the door of this 1890s glasshouse and warm, damp air hits you straight away. Rooms run from a palm house to ferns and orchids to a seasonal flower show. It can be freezing outside and you are walking around in a t-shirt. Entry is free but you need a timed reservation. Pair it with the zoo next door for a half day on a cold afternoon.
