Opened in 1902, this pink building is still packed even after much of Tutankhamun's hoard moved to the GEM. Wooden cases, handwritten labels and lofty halls make it feel more like an old storehouse than a modern museum. The Narmer Palette, colossal statues and the gilded coffins of Yuya and Tjuyu are still here. If you've done the GEM, come for the old-school atmosphere.
