Founded in 678 by the monk Uisang on Mt. Geumjeongsan, this is Busan's main temple. A pine-lined path runs from the front gate to the main hall, and it feels like a mountain retreat even though you never left the city. Heritage buildings, including the main hall and a three-storey pagoda, stand inside the grounds. Temple stays are popular here, and in autumn red leaves cover the courtyard.
