The pale stone front ripples around the street corner like a cliff face, which is why locals nicknamed it La Pedrera, the quarry. In the courtyards you look up at a ring of sky framed by curving walls; one floor is furnished as a wealthy family's flat from the early 1900s, and the attic holds models explaining how Gaudí worked. Then the roof: you walk up and down between chimneys and vents shaped like helmeted soldiers, with the Sagrada Família on the skyline.
