The Chao Phraya wraps around this island like a horseshoe, and a boat from the city side takes about five minutes. On the other side: palms, paddies and shaded bike lanes. Rent a bike near the pier for a few dozen baht and loop through the park and botanical garden. The park is free, and half a day is enough to get your breath back from the city.
